LucasArts confirms the Wiimote to be used as a lightsaber in upcoming Star Wars game

While we kinda figured this would happen since the first day we heard about the revolutionary Wiimote, it is good to see it officially announced. LucasArts has confirmed that an upcoming Wii Star Wars game will feature lightsaber battles with the Wiimote used as a lightsaber. If your a Star Wars fan, you can now die in peace.

A Star Wars light saber game is what I have been waiting for all along. That was my first impression of the Wiimote's use in a game and I'm very excited to someday play this game.

Theres no way that this game could have been made and not take advantage of that.

I have a feeling that this will be the defining Star Wars game, simply because of that.

well while it hasnt been confirmed that i can hack and slash in a future dynasty warriors wii game, i guess this is the second best thing. im not much of a star wars fan, but ive enjoyed some sw games. hopefully its all going to work out well

I knew something like this was gonna happen since I saw that you can use a sword in red steel. I hope they make it like jedi academy or something. I'd buy it, sounds fun!

ya same here. i think the first thought that came to everyones mind when they first learned of the Wiimotes capabilities was 'WOW THAT WOULD BE AWESOME WITH STAR WARS!!!"

This will be so cool! I've always want to pretend I was holding onto a lightsaber in an official Star Warts game! And guess what? Now I can!
